Aging Room Test: 3 Days. No Break. No Lag. No Freeze. No Failure.

1 1

Built tough. Tested tougher. Would you trust your home with less?

At FARHD, we do not just hope our video intercoms will last. We prove it – before any product leaves our factory. One of the most grueling parts of our quality assurance process is the 72‑hour aging room test. For three consecutive days, our video intercoms run non‑stop under extreme conditions: high temperature, high humidity, continuous calls, constant video streaming, and repeated unlocking cycles.

The result? No lag. No freeze. No failure. Just rock‑solid performance, hour after hour, day after day.

What Is the Aging Room Test?

The aging room (also called a burn‑in chamber or environmental test chamber) simulates years of real‑world use in a compressed timeframe. We place fully assembled outdoor stations and indoor monitors into a controlled chamber and subject them to:

  • Elevated temperature – up to +60°C (140°F) to simulate scorching summer days and enclosed spaces.
  • High humidity – up to 95% relative humidity, testing seals and internal components against moisture corrosion.
  • Continuous operation – The system runs 24/7 for 72 hours. During this time:
    • Automated callers simulate visitor rings every few minutes.
    • The indoor monitor answers each call, engages two‑way audio, and views the video feed.
    • The unlock relay is triggered repeatedly.
    • Video streams from the outdoor station’s 1080P camera are constantly transmitted.

This test pushes every component to its limit: the camera sensor, the audio chip, the network module, the touchscreen, the power supply, and even the housing seals.

What We Look For

During the 72 hours, we monitor for:

  • Video freezes or lag – The image must remain smooth and real‑time.
  • Audio dropouts or echo – Two‑way communication must stay clear.
  • Call response failures – Every simulated call must connect instantly.
  • Unlock relay sticking or misfiring – The relay must fire reliably each time.
  • Touchscreen unresponsiveness – The interface must remain snappy.
  • Physical issues – Housing warping, condensation inside the screen, or seal failure.

Any unit that shows even a single anomaly is pulled from the line for analysis. Only units that complete the full 72 hours without a single fault are approved for packaging.

Why 72 Hours? Why Not Just a Few Minutes?

Short functional tests catch obvious defects – a dead camera, a non‑ringing speaker. But they do not reveal latent failures: solder joints that crack after heat cycling, capacitors that drift out of spec under sustained load, or firmware memory leaks that cause a crash after hours of operation.

The aging room test accelerates time. 72 hours of continuous stress is equivalent to months or even years of normal daily use. If a product is going to fail, we want it to fail in our chamber – not at your building entrance.

The Results: No Lag. No Freeze. No Failure.

After countless 72‑hour tests on our current product lines (2‑wire, 4‑wire, IP, Tuya versions, direct‑press models), the data is clear:

  • Zero video freezes during continuous streaming.
  • Zero audio dropouts or unexplained echo.
  • Zero missed calls or delayed responses.
  • Zero unlock relay failures.
  • Zero housing or seal failures (for properly assembled units).

That is what “Built tough. Tested tougher.” really means.

What This Means for You

When you install a FARHD video intercom, you are not buying a product that only works in a showroom. You are buying a system that has already survived:

  • Three days of non‑stop operation in extreme heat and humidity.
  • Thousands of simulated calls and unlocks.
  • Continuous video streaming without a single glitch.

You can trust that it will perform flawlessly on your building’s entrance – day after day, year after year – regardless of weather or usage intensity.

We have recorded a short video showing a unit inside the aging chamber, the temperature display, and the monitor still running smoothly after 72 hours. Watch it to see the proof.
